Further Mathematics Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Further Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for internal and external examinations, and fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of advanced mathematical concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured lessons in Further Mathematics that align with the school’s curriculum and academic standards.
Teach topics such as calculus, algebra, mechanics, statistics, and complex numbers at both senior secondary and examination levels (WAEC, NECO, or Cambridge).
Assess, record, and report on students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
Prepare lesson notes, teaching aids, and assignments that promote active learning.
Conduct regular assessments, tests, and mock examinations.
Maintain an organized record of students’ academic performance and attendance.
Support students in developing problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and teacher training sessions.
Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding students’ progress and academic needs.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: B.Ed., B.Sc. (Ed) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching Further Mathematics at the secondary school level.
Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of current examination standards (WAEC, NECO, or IGCSE).
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students.
Proficiency in the use of ICT tools for teaching and learning is an added advantage.
