Responsibilities
Planning and Preparation:
Develop and manage CO safety and security plans, policies and procedures relevant to the operational context, assess levels of functionality across the CO and identify opportunities to improve functionality related to (but not limited to): incident monitoring and communications, staff movements, security risk assessments, etc.
Procedures and Protocols:
Implement and maintain CARE Safety and Security Protocols including Contingency Plans.
Network with other security staff and organizations to obtain information which can be analyzed to better understand the security environment and, through this, develop standard operating procedures relevant to the security setting in which programs are being implemented.
Act in a Critical Incident or Crisis:
Support the SLT and advise them of possible actions in a time of critical incident or crisis.
Manage and build capacity:
Build capacity through regular training and mentorship of staff and assist and provide guidance to the security officers (SSO), Security Assistants and the security focal points at field levels
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualifications in Security Management.
6 years of demonstrative experience in NGO/UN field security operations.
3 years’ experience working/living in Medium or High Risk countries others at all levels
Strong assessment, evaluation, analysis and strategic planning skills
IT literate, MS – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in developing security related technical tools guidelines and systems
Interpersonal communication and proven written / presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage under stressful conditions.
