Heavy Duty Mechanics

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and servicing of heavy-duty equipment

Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently

Repair and maintain diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and transmissions

Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently

Troubleshoot and fix mechanical issues on-site or in the workshop

Replace worn or damaged parts with new or refurbished components

Maintain accurate service and repair records

Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures

Assist in preventive maintenance planning

Strong knowledge of:

Diesel engines

Hydraulic and electrical systems

Heavy equipment maintenance and repair

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot faults quickly

Experience working with equipment such as:

Excavators

Dump trucks

Loaders

Basic welding and fabrication skills (an advantage)

Good understanding of safety procedures and protocols

Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Educational Requirements

Minimum of Technical Certificate / Trade Test / OND in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Relevant certifications in heavy equipment maintenance (added advantage).
