Job Description

 

Manages the bar

Serves bar guests their orders promptly and courteously

Processes beverage orders for the restaurant, and Room Service upon proper

registration and ordering process

Approaches guests suggesting a cocktail/wine or non-alcoholic beverages and

recommending promotional items

Uses approved suggestive selling techniques to up sell products with higher profit

margin

Maintains knowledge of bar inventory and wine selection to respond properly to guest

questions

Maintains a thorough knowledge of beverage recipes and mixing procedures 

Informs guests of last call

Maintains responsibility for the set up and cleanliness of entire bar and adjoining

lounge area at all times

Arranges furniture in the bar area as needed

Stocks and orders all supplies and glassware

Displays beverage selection in an attractive manner

Maintains a thorough knowledge of standard policies and procedures regarding cash

handling, check-writing, credit cards, city ledger and customer ledger

Processes guest checks accurately

Evaluates bar menu, and gives suggestions for improvement to Food and Beverage

Manager

Ensures that the bar is stocked and kept clean and tidy at all times

Has thorough knowledge of how to handle intoxicated individuals

Full knowledge of alcohol and liquor policies and regulations, and complies fully

with them

Maintains the bar reservation list, and checks the restaurant reservations list.

Requirements

 

Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree.

Furthermore relevant working experience of 2 – 9 years will in the hospitality industry be an added advantage.
