Overview of the role
The Transport Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of company vehicles, drivers, and goods to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily transportation schedules for deliveries and pickups.
Assign vehicles and drivers based on delivery requirements and route efficiency.
Monitor vehicle movements and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
Ensure compliance with traffic laws, company transport policies, and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance.
Coordinate routine vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections.
Manage driver attendance, conduct briefings, and enforce discipline and safety standards.
Investigate and report accidents, breakdowns, or delays promptly.
Liaise with warehouse, operations, and customer service teams to ensure smooth logistics flow.
