Understand all the jobs of Level 3 and be able to do the following additional functions/jobs
Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and quality is acceptable. Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned personnel. Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.
Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel.
Helps to define discipline design organization and participation on a project, including scope of work, design criteria, schedules, standards, and procedures.
Prepare reliable CTRs (man-hour) and budget estimates for proposals and tenders.
Engaged in inter-discipline Squad check of design deliverables and be able manage discipline interfaces.
Provides technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants. This may include obtaining the services of consultants.
Must have two or more special skill/knowledge based areas either in mechanical or piping designs and engineering.
Assist project management group in providing relevant discipline inputs to Project’s Design & Execution Plan, Schedule, Cost Estimating, Progress Measurement & Reporting, etc)
Very conversant with design Codes and Standards and be able to apply them in design and specification writing. (API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA, AWS, etc)
Participate actively in technical review and HAZOP/Constructability meetings
Initiates and/or reviews change order requests for additions, deletions, or changes to the original scope of work.
