\nNestl\u00e9\u00a0Nigeria is currently looking for an Assistant Maintenance Engineer, s\/he will ensure that the sites\u2019 fixed assets used for production are capable of performing and consistently fit for the purpose for which they were intended. The key being asset reliability and overall plant performance.
\nResponsibilities<\/p>\n
Define, propose, and monitor the Maintenance and Improvement (M&I) plans and objectives in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Key Principles and the M&I Activity as outlined in the Nestl\u00e9 Engineering Excellence (NEE) master document.
\nPropose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to the M&I team.
\nLead and coordinate the process maintenance team and maintain competencies, motivation and performance to achieve the M&I team mission and objectives.
\nEnsure that Good Engineering Practices are being always applied.
\nEnsure the implementation of all repairs\/modifications resulting from gap assessments, plant audits and notifications.
\nEnsure that all technicians receive direct on the line coaching in machinery and line operation skills in respect to the requirements of Hygienic engineering.
\nEncourage close teamwork between all functions (Engineering, Production, Quality Management etc.).
\nReview systematically all lines, processes and utilities that are critical to the business and those where failure can have an unacceptable impact on safety, environment or compliance with the law.
\nSupport and encourage the decentralizing of routine maintenance.
\nEnsure that Continuous Improvement becomes a key pillar of the M&I culture.
\nImplement Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) as the multi-discipline, team-based approach to proactively maintain\/improve the reliability and performance of the company\u2019s Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) as the process to manage the lifecycle of the fixed assets.
\nDevelop and implement improvements to minimize downtime for line change and cleaning.
\nLiaise with production, quality management daily to resolve technical and\/or operational issues.\u00a0 (Stoppage analysis from downtime reporting system).
\nEstablish with production, shutdown, and start-up work programs to minimize the risks to the product, people and production losses.
\nMaintains and participates actively in food safety related activities and awareness as a food safety team member.
\nAdopt the Maintenance Excellence vision by striving for the M&I \u201c\u201dProactive Domain\u201d\u201d.
\nEstablish and manage the yearly, monthly, weekly maintenance plans to ensure essential maintenance is completed within a reasonable time.
\nMonitor plant\/equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduction of planned\/unplanned downtime.
\nOptimize predictive maintenance technologies (condition monitoring and inspections) to minimize unplanned downtime.
\nUtilize planned downtime for scheduled and condition-based maintenance with work orders.
\nPropose and monitor process maintenance jobs in accordance with the key performance indicators.
\nDemonstrate and promote the company\u2019s values within the M&I team.
\nEnsure that there exists within the process maintenance team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations.
\nThat all team members are encouraged never to implement any change, whether directly instructed to, or under his\/her own initiative, without first questioning its impact in relation to product safety\/quality, people safety and the environment. No compromises should be tolerated.
\nEnsure that the technical integrity and availability of equipment complies with all regulations.
\nRequirements
\nWhat Will Make You Successful?<\/p>\n
B.Sc. \/ HND in Mechanical, Electrical\/ Electronics, Instrumentation \/ Automation Engineering.
\nProficiency in SAP for stock management and maintenance applications.
\nSolid experience in making and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, using AutoCAD or related software.
\nGood Automation knowledge will be an advantage.
\nMinimum of 5 years post Qualification experience in Maintenance of Process Machines and Equipment.
\nProven track record in continuous improvement and innovation.
\nAbility to engage with stakeholders and communicate effectively.
