Purpose<\/p>\n
To support FMN PLC\u2019s commitment to improving Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance by implementing HSE objectives, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements, and promoting a safe working environment through proactive risk management and employee engagement.
\nThe Job<\/p>\n
Implement and communicate HSE management systems in line with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
\nConduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and escalate potential hazards, fire risks, and unsafe conditions.
\nEnsure all safety and environmental equipment are functional, properly maintained, and adequately stocked
\nSupervise solid and general waste disposal activities to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
\nMonitor factory operations to ensure proper use of PPE and correct deviations.
\nCoordinate pest control activities within the facility.
\nPromote HSE awareness through toolbox talks, pep talks, and employee counseling.
\nInvestigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
\nMaintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and safety documentation.
\nSupport compliance with QMS\/FSMS requirements and participate in food safety team activities.
\nFacilitate emergency drills and ensure preparedness for fire and other emergencies.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nQualifications:<\/p>\n
Minimum requirement: B.Sc. \/ HND in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, and occupational Health and Safety qualification (HSE Level 3).
\nExperience:<\/p>\n
Minimum: 2 years in similar industry\/capacity
\nAdded advantage:\u00a0 NEBOSH certificate or other HSE professional course.
\nThe Person Must Have:<\/p>\n
In depth knowledge of key Health & Safety practices and associated legislative requirements at national level essential.
\nProficient in management of occupational health and safety risks (risk management strategies)
\nGood knowledge of process safety management
\nAbility to investigate and identify root causes behind H&S issues\/incidents and develop pragmatic options for resolution.
\nAbility to organize and manage mixed ability teams in order to solve specific HSE related problems.
\nGood awareness of organizational structures for effective ownership and management of\u00a0 Health & Safety; Job design; performance management.
\nAudio\/visual skills in presentation of information and training material are essential.
\nEnthusiastic with the ability to drive and enforce standards and influence people.
\nAbility to design and deliver training courses to all levels of employee desirable.
