Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Check vital signs
\nCare of the patient using the checklist
\nGet patients ready for surgery
\nEnsure biometry is done for a patient
\nAdequate takeover of the ward by ensuring room-to-room handover.
\nEnsure post-op vital signs
\nEnsure prescription sheet, lenses, and appointment sheet are in the consulting room
\nMedications and injections for both in and outpatients
\nInstillation of eye drops
\nEnsure instructions are carried out e.g. dilation, navigation to procedure or pharmacy or counselling dept.
\nEnter details on the hospital EMR (Indigo)
\nCounsel patients and record appropriately.
\nQualifications<\/p>\n
Must be a Registered Nurse
\nA Post-Basic qualification in Ophthalmic Nursing is an added advantage.
\nAt least 2 years of work experience in the same role.
