Purpose:<\/p>\n
The Nursing Officer provides care for hospital patients as well as assists physicians in providing treatment in various medical settings.
\nThis includes but is not limited to recording and reporting symptoms or changes in patients\u2019 conditions.
\nHe or She will also be tasked with maintaining accurate patient reports and medical histories, administering medication and treatments to patients while observing reactions and side effects.
\nThey also advise patients and their families on various health and conditions.
\nKey Performance Areas:<\/p>\n
Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports.
\nAdministering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions.
\nPrescribing assistive medical devices and related treatments.
\nRecording patient vital signs and medical information.
\nOrdering medical diagnostic and clinical tests.
\nMonitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
\nAdministering intravenous medications.
\nModifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses.
\nMonitor patient\u2019s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
\nObserve and interpret patient\u2019s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
\nCollaborate with physicians and other nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
\nPerform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients\u2019 charts
\nAdjust and administer patient\u2019s medication and provide treatments according to physician\u2019s prescriptions.
\nEscalate patient observations and problems via approved channels
\nInspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
\nProvide instant medical care in emergencies
\nFoster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
\nSupport patient in their activities of daily living {ADL}
\nEducation, Certification and Experience Requirements:<\/p>\n
RM \/ RN
\nBachelors of Nursing Science is added advantage
\nValid Licence \u2013 Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
\nNYSC Certificate or Exemption Letter.
\nProfile:<\/p>\n
Experience in emergency room or intensive care
\nMust have strong clinical skills and have the ability to precept employees.
\nEffective communication skills for service area.
\nExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
\nAble to work efficiently under time constraints
\nOutstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
\nExcellent organizational and ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
\nHighly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile
