Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Budgeting and Financial Planning:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Assist management in drafting, analyzing, and forecasting annual school budgets.<\/p>\n
Track and monitor daily expenditures against departmental budgets.<\/p>\n
Provide regular financial reports to school boards, directors, or the Bursar to guide decision-making.<\/p>\n
Accounts Receivable & Billing:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Manage the student fee collection process, issue receipts, and reconcile student accounts.<\/p>\n
Track outstanding balances, communicate with parents, and execute debt recovery.<\/p>\n
Update student fee records and admissions transactions in the school’s accounting software.<\/p>\n
Payroll & Accounts Payable:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Administer end-to-end payroll processing for both teaching and non-teaching staff.<\/p>\n
Process and disburse vendor payments, verify invoices, and manage procurement records.<\/p>\n
Handle statutory deductions such as pension contributions and PAYE, ensuring timely remittance.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Reporting:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.<\/p>\n
Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards and government regulatory frameworks (e.g., FIRS and PENCOM in Nigeria).<\/p>\n
Liaise with external auditors during periodic or annual financial audits.<\/p>\n
Key Requirements & Qualifications<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.<\/p>\n
Certifications: Professional accounting qualifications like ACA, ACCA, or ICAN are highly preferred.<\/p>\n
Experience: Proven track record in bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial analysis, preferably within an educational environment.<\/p>\n
Hard Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and specialized accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).<\/p>\n
