Job Description<\/p>\n
We are looking for an experienced and highly competent Inventory Officer to take ownership of inventory accuracy, stock control, reconciliation, and inventory movement across the business.
\nThis is a role for someone who is highly organised, analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of inventory systems and the discipline required to maintain accurate stock records.
\nThe ideal candidate should be able to identify discrepancies, prevent stock losses, improve inventory processes, and provide reliable inventory information to support business decisions.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate records of all inventory received, issued, transferred, returned, and disposed of across the business.
\nMonitor stock levels and ensure appropriate inventory availability while minimising overstocking, expiry, damage, and stock-outs.
\nConduct regular physical stock counts, cycle counts, and periodic inventory audits, ensuring discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved.
\nReconcile physical stock against system records and investigate variances, losses, damages, and unexplained movements.
\nMonitor inventory movement across locations and ensure all stock transfers are properly documented and authorised.
\nEstablish and maintain effective inventory control procedures to improve stock accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency.
\nTrack fast-moving, slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and near-expiry items and provide timely reports and recommendations to management.
\nWork closely with Procurement, Finance, Operations, and other relevant teams to ensure accurate purchasing, receiving, storage, issuance, and reconciliation of inventory.
\nPrepare accurate and timely inventory reports, including stock position, variances, valuation, movement, ageing, and other management reports.
\nMonitor inventory-related costs and identify opportunities to reduce wastage, losses, unnecessary purchases, and holding costs.
\nEnsure proper documentation and filing of all inventory transactions and supporting records.
\nSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of inventory management systems, processes, and controls.
\nRequirements<\/p>\n
Minimum of 4 years’ proven experience in inventory management, stock control, warehouse operations, or a related field.
\nStrong understanding of inventory control principles, stock reconciliation, and inventory documentation.
\nProven ability to identify and investigate stock discrepancies.
\nStrong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
\nExperience using inventory management software, ERP systems, or other stock management platforms.
\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyse and reconcile large volumes of inventory data.
\nStrong organisational and record-keeping skills.
\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of inventory accuracy.
\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills.
\nHigh level of integrity and accountability.
