The Finance Associate will support the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, performing reconciliations, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial and regulatory requirements.
\nThe role will work closely with the Finance team and other business stakeholders to ensure timely execution of financial processes, accurate reporting, effective financial controls, and the provision of relevant financial information to support business decision-making.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nFinancial Reporting & Accounting:<\/p>\n
Support the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
\nMaintain accurate accounting records and ensure transactions are properly recorded and classified.
\nAssist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
\nPerform regular reconciliation of general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany balances.
\nSupport the preparation of financial schedules and management reports.
\nAssist with the preparation and review of financial information for assigned business areas.
\nBudgeting & Forecasting:<\/p>\n
Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
\nAssist in monitoring actual performance against approved budgets.
\nPrepare budget variance reports and provide explanations for significant variances.
\nSupport budget revisions and financial planning activities as required.
\nRegulatory & Compliance Reporting:<\/p>\n
Support the preparation and timely submission of regulatory returns and reports.
\nAssist in ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
\nMaintain accurate documentation and records required for regulatory and audit purposes.
\nEscalate potential compliance issues or discrepancies to the appropriate team members.
\nTax Support:<\/p>\n
Support the Finance team in tax compliance and reporting activities.
\nAssist with the preparation of schedules and documentation required for tax filings.
\nMaintain appropriate records for tax and audit purposes.
\nFinancial Analysis:<\/p>\n
Conduct basic financial analysis and prepare reports to support business and management decisions.
\nAnalyse financial data, identify trends and variances, and provide relevant insights.
\nSupport the preparation of financial models, presentations, and management reports.
\nAudit & Internal Controls:<\/p>\n
Support internal and external audit activities by providing required schedules, documents, and financial information.
\nAssist in maintaining effective financial controls and ensuring compliance with established processes.
\nIdentify and report accounting discrepancies, control gaps, or unusual transactions.
\nOther Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Support the effective management of finance-related processes and systems, including the Expense Portal.
\nMaintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
\nWork collaboratively with other departments to resolve finance-related queries.
\nPerform other finance-related duties as may be assigned.
\nRequirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
\nProfessional qualification or progress towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage.
\n2\u20134 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit, or a related function.
\nExperience within financial services, banking, investment, or capital markets will be an added advantage.
\nGood understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, reconciliations, budgeting, and financial controls.
\nExperience supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
\nBasic knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory reporting.
\nStrong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting\/ERP systems.
\nAbility to analyse financial data and prepare clear reports and schedules.
\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.
\nAbility to work effectively within a team and meet tight reporting deadlines.
