Senior Finance Associate

A faith-based organisation in Lagos is seeking to employ the services of a Senior Finance Associate

Job Objectives

The role is responsible for:

• Providing high quality and effective financial support and assistance to the Head of Finance as required
• Maintaining financial and accounting services in accordance with internal procedures, good practices, and statutory requirements
• Monitoring and reviewing financial systems and procedures and recommend, devise, and implement more effective and efficient procedures
• Preparing financial reports in liaison with the Head of Finance and other stakeholders
• General administration of the finance function as assigned.

Requirements

1. Preparation of periodic financial statements for the management
2. Up to date posting of transactions on the accounting software
3. Review and prepare a monthly budget performance report, (Budget v Actual)
4. Inflows: Preparation and submission of inflow reports within 24hours after the event or service
5. Reconciliation of all accounts (cash, cheques, online transfers).
6. Reconciliation of all card transactions (Naira & USD)
7. Monitor Vendors and contractors’ obligations and  liabilities
8. Monthly report and monitoring of schedule of contract obligations
9. Management of Fixed Asset Register
10. Regular updating the Insurance Register
11. Accounting for obsolete assets on the Register and escalate to the Head of Finance (HoF)
12. Treatment of Prepayments and Accruals for all insurance of the Organisation
13. Remittance of Pensions, PAYE, WHT, ITF, NSITF and other statutory obligation
14. Fixed deposit management and tracking QuickBooks and Excel.
15. Preparation of correspondences to banks and other parties
16. Management of existing relationships with all external stakeholders
17. Attend and resolve issues with internal parties, auditors, banks, congregants, and vendors
18. Ensure availability on all service days
19. Provide support during the treasury management process
20. Ensure accuracy of data compiled for the service report before submission to HoF
