Royal Plate, Nigeria is a fast growing restaurant headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. We are looking to expand our territory with new outlets in Lagos, Asaba and Ibadan and is currently accepting applicants to fill available positions.


Job Summary:
A cook prepares, seasons, and cooks all kinds of food to serve in a restaurant. He/she is usually part of the cooking staff of a restaurant along with dishwashers, kitchen helpers and fellow cooks or chefs as well.
A short-order cook prepares dishes on a fast-food type of restaurant, while a cook can also be an expert in one kind of food in a rather large restaurant. Kitchen helpers work side by side with cooks in preparation of food. A cook may also order supplies, keep records and accounts, price items on menu, or even plan the menu.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: He/She cook washes, peels, cuts and prepares food designated for cooking, packages batches of food;

cooks the orders by different customers simultaneously,

maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas;
Weighs, measures and mixes ingredients required for specific food items being prepared;

verifies that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity;

Orders and takes delivery of supplies depending on estimated food consumption;

coordinates and supervises work of kitchen staff;

Consults with the Managerial staff to plan and price menus.


He/She must understand proper preparation techniques (especially indigenous foods),

memorize a large variety of recipes to ensure consistency,
know the materials methods, and equipment in food preparation as well as knowledge of food values, Menu planning, and uses for left-over food.
The ability to take inventory and keep records of foodstuffs used and give significant assistance in planning menus for both banquets and regular meals is also needed. They also must be neat-looking, physically fit, and the ability to perform mathematical computations in order to meet budgets.

SSCE holder with relevant experience.

Ability to cook and prepare Ibibio soups and delicacies will a huge advantage.


Job Description:

Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

Communicate with customers to resolve complaints or ensure satisfaction.

Process customer bills or payments.

Write patrons’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers or any other mode for transmittal to kitchen staff.

Communicate dining or order details to kitchen personnel.

Take customer orders.

Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.

Process customer bills or payments.

Present food or beverage information or menus to customers.

Serve food or beverages.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Secondary school graduate or equivalent. Should speak, read, Write, and understand English language.

Relocation Details:
Successful Applicants should be ready to relocate to any of our new outlets in Abuja, Lagos, Asaba, Ibadan.

Experience: minimum of 1 year
restaurant-related experience desired.

Note: Applicants with previous customers service experience or sales positions in similar roles may stand a better chance.
